the microwave and jug experiment
We read an article that showed microwaving water makes it dangerous for plants. Down below there is a link to an article about a girl doing a test on two exact plants, one of them microwaved water and one purified. The microwaved water had to cool down before put into the plant . here is the link to the original test we are challenging http://www.the-open-mind.com/microwave-test-an-eye-opener i think because we're all doing the experiment that theres going to be more different results , than one person doing one plant for each pot. equipment: 1: two exact containers ( if you are doing this experiment by yourself you must have at least 6 pots 3 each 2: to exact amount of cotton wool 3: 5 beans (mung beans) 4: hot microwaved water (cooled down) 5: jug water (purified) step 1: boil a jug of water and put some water in the microwave and let both cool down. step 2: get two pieces of cotton wool and just fluff the cotton wool to get a bit of a stretch and put on the bottom of each container. step 3: put the 5 mung beans separately in and around the container step 4: put 3 drops in the microwave container and 3 drops of jug water into the jug container step 5: write jug on one each container and microwave on the other here are our results how does the plant lean to the light her are the results: Plants kept inside a room always grow in the direction of the window. Grass seedling always bends towards light. This is due to a phenomenon called photo tropism. The leaves, then lean towards the light for photosynthesis. Without sunlight green plants cannot live. it does not mean that its bad it means one part of the plant is not getting enough sunlight so it moves towards where it can get some light. |
Movement
Reproduction Sensitivity Cells Grow Respiration Excretion Nutrition this is what mrs c gren stands for !!! plant vs animal this is a plant animals and plants are living. these things were never alive . inverbrate means with a spine vertebrae means no spine (worms are vertebrae and lizards are invertebrate ) another example but in pictures inverterbrate vertebrate CO2 + H2O- C6 H12 O6 + O2 respiration. O2 + O6 H12 H2O + CO2 respiration in cells 1:provides energy 2: food for growth Digesting starch.
Water bath. at 30-40 degrees Celsius. (body temperature) saliva, enzymes, amylase. starch solution. benedicts We put starch water into a test tube. We then added our own saliva and mixed it together. We put the test tube into a cup of the 30-40 degree cup of hot water. After that we put 10 drops of benedicts in the tube and at the bottom was some orangey powder. |
